Campaign Finance Reform
1) The people should know who pays for a congressperson’s campaign, right?
Our Simple Premise®: All congresspersons must clearly and transparently indicate who donates money to them.
We propose that each congressperson, while on the floor of the house or senate, must wear a vest bearing logos of any entity that contributes more than a specified amount of money to his or her campaign fund or PAC. The size of logo should correspond to the amount of money received, sort of like a race car. Yes, we know this sounds a little extreme, and there are some details to work out, but it should get the discussion started.
2) Only voting citizens should have an unlimited right to speak and influence elections. Corporate political spending should be curbed significantly.
Our Simple Premise®: NO Political contributions are permitted except by someone who is or will someday be eligible to vote.
